St. Louis has over 2,000 restaurants – you have plenty of options to choose from.

We know you ask lots of questions when deciding where to eat and how to spend your money:

How close is the restaurant? Does their menu satisfy everyone in my family? Is parking easy? Is it in walking distance? Is there outdoor seating? Is it loud or intimate?…

We know you ask the BIG questions, too:

Do they have a sustainability policy? Will my leftovers be packaged in Styrofoam? Do they get their food from local farms? Do they offer organic, pastured, and grass fed options? Do they recycle? Are they careful about how much water and energy they use? Will excess food be donated to area food banks? Do they compost?…

Imagine the impact if your favorite restaurants knew these questions were on our minds.

A local approach to sustainable certification.

The Green Dining Alliance certification was researched and designed by staff at earthday365, with support from trusted industry professionals. Our goal is to increase environmental awareness and influence consumer decisions. We aim to increase sustainable dining opportunities in and around St. Louis. We want to be able to promote the restaurants that are paying attention to their business practices with an eye on the environment and the local economy.

As 3rd party administrators of the program, we are able to provide a non-biased assessment of a restaurant’s current practices and work with them to recommend appropriate, achievable strategies for annual improvement. Read more about the GDA Certification.
